Even the most pessimistic fantasy football players have a shred of hope during Week 2 of the NFL regular season. By the end of Sunday's slate of games, though, the 0-2 owners may be reeling.
For their own sanity, we hope they were smart (or lucky) enough to have some of this week's top fantasy performers on their teams and in their lineups.
There were plenty of big performances from around the league. Notables from each game can be found below:

Running backs on the wrong side of 30 are supposed to be either done or on their way out of the league. The New York Jets' Matt Forte is looking to bust that stereotype this season, and he went a long way toward doing so Thursday.
The veteran ripped off 100 yards and three touchdowns on the ground against the Buffalo Bills, leading the Jets to a 37-31 win over their division rival. After the game, the NFL shared video of Forte talking about his performance:
As Bleacher Report noted, fantasy players who had him in the lineup this week were surely psyched:
Those who were smart enough to grab him this season can expect plenty of production over the rest of the season too.
"As long as he's healthy, we're not going to hold him back," Jets coach Todd Bowles said Friday, per NJ.com's Connor Hughes. "There will be some fluctuations here and there, depending on the game. There may be games we throw more. We'll see how he's feeling, and we'll try to monitor it going forward."
Even if New York does throw more in certain weeks, Forte still figures to be a factor. He's been a capable receiver his entire career. It's early, but he's on pace for 56 catches and 544 receiving yards this season.
After conversation throughout the week centered on the shots Cam Newton took to the head against the Denver Broncos to start the season, the reigning MVP looked A-OK on Sunday.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback went 24-of-40 for 353 yards and four touchdowns, leading his team to 46 points and a win against the San Francisco 49ers.
Kelvin Benjamin, who figures to be one of Newton's favorite targets this season, did plenty of damage as a receiver, tallying 108 yards and two touchdowns. The NFL shared video of his second score:
Newton and this Panthers offense look every bit as dangerous as they did last season, putting up over 60 points in their first two games. As the season wears on, Newton figures to be among the highest-scoring fantasy players in the NFL.
