The Oakland Raiders have won two of three and squeaked past the lowly Miami Dolphins 27-24 two weeks ago as Marshawn Lynch rushed for two touchdowns and Carr passed for another. However, it doesn’t bode well for the Raiders in my mind that they allowed pitiful Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler to throw three TD passes in that contest, seeing as how Miami is the lowest scoring team in all of football this season.

A year ago, this would have been a really intriguing matchup, but right now, Tom Brady and the Patriots are clearly better than Derek Carr and the Raiders on both sides of the ball.
New England is averaging almost a touchdown more per game than Oakland while giving up almost two fewer points per game defensively.
New England is playing its best defense of the season after a really slow start and has not allowed more than 17 points in each of their last five games. Oakland has given up 30 or more in two of their last three and giving up 24 to Miami is kind of like allowing someone else to score 40.
