Cam Newton and the streaking Carolina Panthers are looking more and more like a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the NFC their past few games. The same can’t be said for a New York Jets team that is struggling more than they have all season recently.

The Panthers have won three straight and blew the Miami Dolphins out of the water (pardon the pun) in their 45-21 Monday Night Football annihilation of the Fins in Week 10. Newton put on a show by throwing four TD passes while adding 95 rushing yards, including a sweet, 69-yard scamper in the rout. Carolina rushed for a stellar 294 yards on the night and went 4-for-4 in the red zone while winning the time of possession battle against Miami by over 11 minutes.
The Jets have lost four of their last five and really struggled in their 15-10, Week 10 road loss to Tampa Bay by getting held to just 56 rushing yards and losing the turnover battle 2-1. The Jets saw veteran quarterback Josh McCown sacked six times in the loss and have basically looked pretty lethargic since they hit the skids almost six weeks ago. While I really admire the way Jets head coach Todd Bowles has gotten his team to compete this season, the fact of the matter is that new York just doesn’t have enough offensive weapons to keep up with Carolina in this contest.

Cam Newton and company have gone a near-perfect 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games, 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games in the month of November and a consistent 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
