Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers will look to keep their faint playoff hopes alive and get back in the win column when they host a Buffalo Bills team that is in a near, mirror-like situation heading into Week 11.

The big difference for both desperate teams that have each lost their last two games is that Buffalo will be starting a rookie quarterback after replacing veteran Tyrod Taylor with rookie Nathan Peterman. Now, let’s find out if the Bolts can hold it down at home against the Bills and their rookie signal-caller as he makes his first career NFL start.

Bills Vs Chargers Line & Betting Predictions

Buffalo Bills (5-4) at L.A. Chargers (3-6)
When: Sunday, November 19 at 4:05 PM ET
Where: StubHub Center
NFL Odds: Chargers -4.5
Total: 43.5

The Bills were on the wrong end of a surprising 34-21 loss to the Jets two weeks ago that snapped their two-game winning streak at the time. Making matters worse, Buffalo followed that up by getting completely blown away in their embarrassing 47-10 home loss against New Orleans last weekend, prompting first-year head coach Sean McDermott to bench veteran Tyrod Taylor in favor of rookie Nathan Peterman.

Peterman played well by completing 7 of 10 passes for 79 yards and one touchdown after Taylor completed 9 of 18 for just 56 yards with one interception. Still, neither player could help a Bills defense that got shredded for 298 rushing yards by the Saints and six rushing scores, including 131 yards and three touchdowns from Saints veteran Mark Ingram.

Los Angeles put u a great effort in their 21-13 road loss at New England in Week 8 and put on another solid performance against Jacksonville in last weekend’s crushing 20-17 overtime loss against Jacksonville, although they did manage to cover the chalk as a 5-point road underdog against the Jags as Rivers tossed two TD passes and the Bolts picked off Blake Bortles twice in the narrow loss.

Seeing the way these two teams have played over their respective last two games and knowing the Bills are starting a rookie under center makes me completely surprised that 52 percent of public bettors are going with Buffalo t cover the chalk.

For me, I like the Chargers and their more explosive offense and I believe they’re going to put more than their fair share of points on the board after both, the Jets and Saints lit the Bills defense up in their last two games.

Buffalo is just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games against a team with a losing home record while the Chargers have gone 4-1 ATS in their last five games and the home team in this rivalry is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

Pick: L.A. Chargers -4.5
