In today’s parity-laden times, upsets are taking place in the NFL more than they ever have. With that said, if you’re an NFL betting enthusiast, then you know there’s nothing like cashing in with a winning wager on an underdog that is offering plenty. In keeping with out season-long theme of finding dogs that are ‘offering plenty of bite’ let’s find this week’s best underdogs bets on the Week 7 board.
Upset Picks NFL Week 7
Cincinnati Bengals (2-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
When: Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
NFL Odds: Pittsburgh -6
Analysis: The Steelers pulled off a huge upset to hand the unbeaten Chiefs their first loss of the season in their 19-13 Week 6 road win, but I believe there’s a reason why 47 percent of public bettors are backing Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals to cover the spread in this Week 7 AFC North divisional matchup. Despite their impressive win this past weekend, something just doesn’t look right about the Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger this season. Cincinnati has won two straight and they’re well-rested after getting a bye last weekend.
The Bengals are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 5-2 ATS in their L/7 games overall. Highlighting Pittsburgh’s inconsistency is the fact that the Steelers are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight-up win and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS win. Cincinnati has been a bit of a disappointment this season, but the road team in this divisional rivalry is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings and again – something just doesn’t feel right about the Steelers this season.
Upset Pick Week 7: Cincinnati +6
New York Jets (3-3) at Miami Dolphins (3-2)
When: Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida
NFL Odds: Miami -3.5
Analysis: The Miami Dolphins may have stunned the Atlanta Falcons in their 20-17 Week 6 comeback win on Sunday, but Miami has been pretty abysmal on offense this season and I just don’t trust Jay Cutler if you want me to be honest about it. Not only that, but the New York Jets have played some really inspiring football this season in keeping it together for ‘defensive genius’ head coach Todd Bowles. I like New York in this Week 7 AFC East divisional matchup after they got completely robbed in their 24-17 Week 6 loss against New England on Sunday.
New York is a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four games and an impressive 16-5 ATS in their L/21 road dates against the Dolphins. Miami has gone 5-11 in their last 16 games against their AFC East division rivals and just5 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against the Jets. New York covers the spread – by getting the outright road upset in South Beach in this one!
Upset Pick Week 7: NY Jets +3.5
Los Angeles Rams (4-2) vs Arizona Cardinals (3-3)
When: Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Twickenham Stadium, London
NFL Odds: Los Angeles -3.5
Analysis: I love the way that Sean McVay has transformed the Rams into a ‘real’ team this season and I can see that things are only going to get better for them in the seasons ahead. I was also seriously impressed with their exciting 27-17 win over Jacksonville on Sunday, but for this Week 7 matchup in London, I like the Arizona Cardinals to continue their improvements after picking up a hard-fought 38-33 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.
I love the addition of Adrian Peterson and I believe he’s going to continue to give Arizona and Carson Palmer the offensive balance they’ve missed since losing star running back David Johnson early this season. The Cards have alternated SU wins and losses all season, but they‘re also 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against the Rams and I like them to record consecutive wins for the first time this season by ‘upsetting’ L.A. in London.
Upset Pick Week 7: Arizona +3.5
