Week 9 of the NFL season is here and I have a trio of expert betting picks you need to jump on today!

Will the Indianapolis Colts show up in their Week 9 AFC South divisional battle against the Houston Texans or will they get embarrassed by gifted rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson?

Can Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks handle Kirk Cousins and the struggling Washington Redskins or will they need another high-scoring effort in order to get the Week 9 home win?

Last but not least, will Trevor Siemian be under center or sitting on the bench when the Denver Broncos take on Carson Wentz and the streaking Philadelphia Eagles?

With the start of Week 9 of the 2017 NFL regular season quickly approaching, let’s find get a handle on what the expert pick is for those games.

Expert Picks NFL Week 9

Indianapolis (2-6) at Houston (3-4)
When: Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas
NFL Odds: Houston -13
Total: 48.5

Analysis: While I’m not really fond of the high points spread, I’m going to advise you to go along with the 57 percent of public bettors that like Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans to cover the chalk against the reeling Indianapolis Colts as nearly two-touchdown home favorites. I know the Colts put up a solid effort in their narrow 24-23 Week 8 loss at Cincinnati, but I’m just not going against the gifted Watson after seeing the way he shredded Seattle’s league-leading defense in Houston’s 41-38 loss against the Seahawks this past weekend.

The Colts have lost three straight while dropping two of those contests by at least 14 points, including their 27-0 shutout loss at home against Jacksonville two weeks ago. Even in losing three of their last five games, Houston has put at least 33 points on the board in every contest during the stretch, thanks mostly to the jaw-dropping feats of Watson. The Colts have gone 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against their AFC South division rivals while Houston has gone 5-1 ATS in their last six games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against their division rivals. Deshaun Watson is a superstar in the making while Indianapolis is playing out the string in a lost season in what should be Chuck Pagano’s final season coaching the Colts. Houston is my top NFL Week 9 expert pick!

Expert Pick Week 9: Houston -13

Washington (3-4) at Seattle (5-2)
When: Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 4:05 PM ET
Where: CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Washington
NFL Odds: Seattle -7
Total: 45

Analysis: The Redskins let me down in what looked like a winnable Week 8 contest against a Dallas Cowboys team that had an identical 3-3 record going into their NFC East divisional battle against the Skins this past Sunday. Now, I’m thinking Washington is going down even harder against a Seattle Seahawks team that put 41 points on the board against Houston on Sunday. Washington has lost three of its last four while getting held to 20 points or less in two of those defeats.

Seattle has won four straight while scoring 41 or more in two of those contests. Add it all up and I doesn’t look good for the Skins as touchdown road dogs. Washington is 0-4 ATS in their last four games while Seattle has gone 5-1 ATS in their last six games in the month of November. After watching the Skins get crushed by Dallas this past weekend, I’m thinking more of the same is in store for Washington when they hit the great Northwest to face Seattle making the Seahawks my second NFL Week 9 expert pick in this tilt.

Expert Pick Week 9: Seattle -7

Denver (3-3) at Philadelphia (7-1)
When: Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
NFL Odds: Philadelphia -7.5
Total: OFF

Analysis: Philadelphia has clearly found their franchise signal-caller in Carson Wentz while the Denver apparently has not in Trevor Siemian. Unfortunately for the floundering Broncos, it is the huge difference at quarterback that will cause them to lose this Week 9 Inter-conference clash while failing to cover the chalk. Under the direction of the blossoming Wentz, Philadelphia is averaging 11.0 points per game more than Siemian and the offensively-challenged Broncos and Philadelphia is surprisingly also allowing fewer points per game than Denver this season.

The Broncos are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games while Philadelphia has gone an unblemished 5-0 ATS in their last five games and 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. Wentz takes another step toward a likely top-five MVP finish while Siemian takes another step toward the bench – if he isn’t already there by the time this Week 9 matchup gets underway. The Eagles are my final expert pick for NFL Week 9.
