Expert Picks NFL Week 8

San Francisco 49ers (0-7) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-1)
When: Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
NFL Odds: Philadelphia -11
Total: OFF

Analysis: Although Philadelphia has yet to play its Week 7 Monday Night Football matchup against Washington at the time of this writing, I’ve got to believe that if the Dallas Cowboys just trashed the Niners 40-10 this past weekend, then a Philly team that is clearly better than the Cowboys, is going to lay their own emphatic beatdown on the rebuilding Niners. Heading into Monday night, Philly had won four straight while scoring 26 points or more in every game this season while Frisco has reached the figure just once. The Birds were also 7-2 ATS over their last nine and 7-3 ATS over their last 10 home dates. Second-year quarterback Carson Wentz is clearly the real deal and the eagles will soar over a Niners team that is an uninspiring 1-6 ATS in its last seven visits to the City of Brotherly Love.

Expert Pick Week 8: Philadelphia -11

Indianapolis Colts (2-5) at Cincinnati Bengals (2-4)
When: Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio
NFL Odds: Cincinnati -10
Total: 41

Analysis: Cincinnati let me down and made my pick for an ATS cover fall through in their humbling 29-14 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers this past weekend. Still, the Bengals are the easy pick to lay an emphatic beatdown on Indianapolis in their Week 8 matchup. The Colts looked absolutely incompetent in their 27-0 shutout loss against Jacksonville on Sunday and has not shot of beating a Bengals team that has problems, but one that has plenty of talent as well. Indianapolis has gone 3-6 ATS in their last nine game and 1-4 ATS in their last five road dates. The Bengals will get the win and ATS cover thanks to their desperation and Indy’s incompetence.

Expert Pick Week 8: Cincinnati -10

Houston Texans (3-3) at Seattle Seahawks (4-2)
When: Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 4:05 PM ET
Where: CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Washington
NFL Odds: Seattle -5.5
Total: 42.5

Analysis: The Texans had a bye this past weekend, so they’re well-rested after laying a 33-17 smackdown on Cleveland two weeks ago. However, I really like the way Seattle looked in their 24-7 win over the Giants on Sunday and hard-fought 16-10 win against the improved Rams two weeks ago. I believe Seattle’s stout defense is going to make Deshaun Watson be the first team to look ordinary this season by putting up another great defensive effort to humble Houston.

I know the Texans are 4-1 ATS in their last five games, thanks mostly to the gifted Watson, but Seattle is always difficult to beat at home, not to mention the fact that they’ve gone 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games. I’m thinking Russell Wilson and Seattle’s No. 1 scoring defense (15.7 ppg) grind out a tough win at home against the Texans.

Expert Pick Week 8: Seattle -5.5
