The tilt between top-ranked and odds-on favorite to win the National Title Alabama and 2-1 Ole Miss is a Las Vegas betting mismatch with the Crimson Tide favored by four touchdowns at home. Kick-off is this Saturday, September 30th at 9:00 PM ET on ESPN from the Bryant-Denny Stadium.
“This is a team that has beaten us two out of the last three years, and we’ve played some really shootout kind of games with them,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said.

Why Bet The Ole Miss Rebels To Beat The Tide
Ole Miss, which was off last week, lost at California 27-16 in its most recent game. Prior to that, Ole Miss (2-1) earned wins over South Alabama and Tennessee-Martin, posting a combined 92 points.
The Rebels passing game has been exceptional this season. They average a total of 496.7 yards per game. 427.0 yards of those yards are passing. And it all is thanks to sophomore QB Shea Patterson and his plethora of receivers who are off to a fast start for the nation’s fourth-ranked passing offense.
Patterson is completing 70.5% of his throws in 2017 while averaging 10.5 yards per attempt. He has thrown for 1281 yards in just three games, which is the 10th most in the entire nation. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Patterson hasn’t thrown fewer than 360 yards in a game all season.
A.J. Brown is Patterson’s go-to target with a SEC-leading 129.7 receiving yards per game, although he is dealing with a strained knee and is expected to be a game-time decision.
Why Bet The Alabama Crimson Tide To Beat The Rebels
Alabama’s defense is scary. They are allowing 177.8 passing yards and 70.3 rushing yards per game this season. The D was bolstered last week by the return of linebackers Anfernee Jennings, Rashaan Evans and Dylan Moses from injury.
"They lost all of these players (to the NFL Draft) and you think they’re going to take a step back," Ole Miss interim head coach Matt Luke said of Alabama’s defense. "But you turn the tape on and they’re every bit as good."
Last year, Alabama slipped by with a 48-43 victory. The Tide roared back from a 24-3 first-half deficit and then held off the Rebels in the final minutes.
If You Still Can’t Decide Who To Bet On
- Mississippi is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Alabama
- Crimson Tide are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 conference games.
Ole Miss Vs. Alabama Week 5 Betting Analysis
Bama is favored by four touchdowns by the Las Vegas oddsmakers for a reason. Now the question remains if Ole Miss can cover that back breaking spread. I am betting on it.
