Free Picks NFL Week 3 – Which Underdogs To Bet
New Orleans Saints (0-2) at Carolina Panthers (2-0)
When: Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina
TV: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Odds: Carolina -9.5
Total: 46.5
Analysis: New Orleans has looked pretty uninspiring in falling to Minnesota 29-19 in their opener before looking even worse against New England in their humbling 36-20 Week 2 home loss against Tom Brady and company. The Carolina Panthers got past San Francisco 23-3 in their opener and beat Buffalo 9-3 in Week 2, but there’s a reason why 60 percent of public bettors like the Saints in this contest.
Despite losing four of their last five meetings against the Panthers, New Orleans won the last meeting between these NFC South rivals a year ago (23-20) and I believe their potent offense and the semi-desperate state they’re in right now will help fuel an ATS upset cover at the very least in this Week 3 NFC South pairing.
New Orleans future Hall of Famer Drew Brees is the better quarterback in this matchup, not to mention the fact that the Saints are 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings against Carolina while the underdog in this NFC South division rivalry is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. Not only will the Saints cover the spread in this contest, but they’ll do so by winning outright,
Free Pick Week 3: New Orleans +9.5
Cincinnati Bengals (0-2) at Green Bay Packers (1-1)
When: Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 4:25 PM ET
Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin
TV: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Odds: Green Bay -9
Total: 46.5
Analysis: Cincinnati has looked completely abysmal in their 20-0 season-opening home loss against Baltimore and just slightly less so in their 13-9 Week 2 home loss to Houston. Conversely, Green Bay looked rock-solid in beating Seattle 17-9 in their opener before falling to Atlanta 34-23 in their Week 2 road loss against Atlanta. However, I like the Bengals to get the ATS upset cover in this one, mostly because they still have the components to put plenty of points n the board against a Packers defense that is still mostly average in my opinion.
The Packers are 2-7 just ATS in their last 9 games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game while Cincinnati has gone 10-2 ATS in their last 12 Week 3 games and 7-1 ATS in their last nine games on grass. With the underdog in this series going a near-perfect 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings, I’m thinking a desperate Cincy team will get the ATS cover at the very least, if not the outright road win!
Free Pick Week 3: Cincinnati +9
Seattle Seahawks (1-1) at Tennessee Titans (1-1)
When: Sunday, September 24 at 4:05 PM ET
Where: Nissan Stadium
TV: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Odds: Tennessee -2
Total: 43
Analysis: The Tennessee Titans may have overpowered the Jacksonville Jaguars in their 37-16 Week 2 smackdown of their AFC South rivals, but by now, everyone that knows a thing about the NFL, knows that Jacksonville is arguably the most quarterback-challenged team in the league with an awful starter in Blake Bortles and a backup that is equally as uninspiring in veteran Chad Henne.
Having said that, I’m going to urge you to back Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks to get the road win and ATS cover over the Titans. Mostly because I suspect they’re semi-desperate to get their act together after their stunningly slow start this season.
"Just stay together and keep grinding," Seattle safety Kam Chancellor following Sunday’s win. "Keep looking forward."
Seattle got smacked around by Green Bay in their season-opening 17-9 road loss before narrowly getting past the rebuilding San Francisco 49ers in their ‘weird’ 12-9 Week 2 win at home. Now, the Seahawks are a bit desperate to get their offense in gear and I believe it could happen in this contest, especially seeing as how the Titans also got man-handled in their 26-16 season-opening loss to Oakland.
The Seahawks are 7-0 ATS in their last seven Week 3 games while Tennessee has gone just 7-22-2 ATS in their last 31 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up win of more than 14 points. I’m going to urge you to back Russell Wilson and company to get the outright road win – based on the fact that they’re already looking semi-desperate
Free Pick Week 3: Seattle +2
