If you're an active fantasy football participant, there's a good chance you're staring down your fantasy postseason as we speak. Many fantasy leagues begin their playoffs in Weeks 13 or 14, and some larger leagues start even sooner than that.
We're now heading into Week 11, which is a critical time if you are in the hunt for the postseason. Making the right roster decisions now can be a make-or-break affair.
We're here to help with our picks for the top adds and drops of Week 11. For adds, we'll look at players who are available in at least 40 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues. For drops, we'll look at players whose usefulness has expired or who are too inconsistent to be in your lineup heading into the postseason.
All of our picks will be based on factors like past performances, matchups and health, where applicable.
Good luck!
Week 11 All-Waiver-Wire Lineup
Notable Adds and Drops
Add: Tyrod Taylor, QB, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor is a dual-threat machine and a part-time fantasy star. We say part-time because while he doesn't always rack up the fantasy points, he can be a dominant fantasy force when things are clicking.
Against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9, for example, he passed for 289 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed for 43 yards and a score. If you're playing in a league that rewards rushing touchdowns more than passing touchdowns (say, six points versus four), then Taylor's value goes up.
Next week, Taylor will face a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has been both inconsistent and at times downright bad. Cincinnati is rated 27th in overall defense and 31st in pass coverage by Pro Football Focus.
Cincinnati will also be playing on a short week, while Buffalo is coming off a bye. This could lead to a big fantasy outing for Taylor, especially with a healthier LeSean McCoy and Percy Harvin on the receiving end of his passes.
Taylor and the Bills will face the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12.
Drop: Sam Bradford, QB, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford might look like an enticing fantasy option since he rarely turns the ball over—just four turnovers all year—and the fact he is coming off a 307-yard performance.
However, we're going to recommend cutting Bradford loose before Week 11, in part because of his looming matchup and in part because he struggles to find the end zone.
Bradford has a mere 11 passing touchdowns this season. Taylor, who we recommend picking up, has only 10 passing touchdowns, but he has also rushed for a score in each of his last three games.
In Week 11, Bradford will face an Arizona Cardinals team that is rated first in overall defense. Picking Bradford back up for his Week 12 date with the Detroit Lions is an option, but playing him against Arizona shouldn't be.
This could be the week when turnovers finally haunt Bradford—and he still might not get into the end zone.
Add: Thomas Rawls, RB, Seattle Seahawks
If you're looking ahead to the postseason and want to add a running back who can help you once you get there, consider Seattle Seahawks back Thomas Rawls.
Rawls was a revelation as a rookie in 2015. He rushed for 830 yards and four touchdowns in just 13 games and seven starts. Unfortunately, Rawls suffered a fibula injury early this season after appearing in just two games.
According to Sheil Kapadia of ESPN.com, the good news is that Rawls appears to be on his way back:
He returned to practice this past week.
“He looked really fast and confident making his breaks and moves,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said of Rawls, per John Boyle of the team's official website. “He practiced throughout the week. It was a really good week for Thomas coming back. You couldn’t see anything that was bothering him at all, so it was really, really positive."
Expect Rawls to have a heavy workload running the ball in Seattle's backfield. Fellow back C.J. Prosise will likely continue with his role as a receiving back and part-time receiver, but Rawls should be the bruiser in between the tackles.
Rawls should start hitting his stride just in time for your fantasy playoffs.
Drop: Isaiah Crowell, RB, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns running back Isaiah Crowell started the 2016 season with a bang. He rushed for 396 yards and three touchdowns and had 53 receiving yards in his first four games. However, Crowell has dropped off considerably since then.
Over the past three weeks, he has rushed for just 56 yards and one touchdown. While Crowell does hold some value in points-per-reception leagues—he has nine receptions for 127 yards in that span—he isn't reliable enough to be anything more than a spot starter at the flex.
If you've been holding on to him and hoping he will recapture his early-season stud status, it's probably time to give up. Even if Crowell were running well (and he isn't), the Browns are falling behind too early in games to lean on the ground game.
This trend of falling behind is likely to continue with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals looming on the schedule.
The only members of the Browns who are worth holding on to right now are wide receivers Terrelle Pryor and Corey Coleman.
Add: Kenny Britt, WR, Los Angeles Rams
While the Los Angeles Rams still have some major questions at the quarterback position (Is Jared Goff ever going to start?), they have found at least one dependable and consistent wide receiver in Kenny Britt.
If you haven't been paying attention—and based on his ownership percentage, many of you haven't—Britt has been good this season. Through nine games, he has racked up 44 receptions for 693 yards and three touchdowns.
Last week alone, he caught seven passes for 109 yards.
If you're in need of a WR2 or a flex option for Week 11, Britt should be your guy. He'll be battling a Miami Dolphins defense that is rated 21st in pass coverage.
Britt then gets a matchup with a suspect New Orleans Saints defense in Week 12. New Orleans is rated just 30th in pass coverage.
Drop: Dennis Pitta, TE, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta is another guy who got off to a solid start in 2016. He produced 18 receptions for 183 yards over his first three games of the season. Unfortunately, Pitts has dropped off in recent weeks.
Pitta holds some PPR value with 18 receptions over the past four weeks. However, he doesn't provide much value at all in standard formats. He has just 116 combined yards through his past four games.
Even worse, Pitta has failed to find the end zone so far in 2016.
Even if you're playing in a PPR league, Pitta is little more than a bye-week fill-in at this point. There are better options on the waiver wire such as Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate.
Brate had seven receptions for 84 yards and a score in his last game, and he has scored a touchdown in each of his last three contests.
Pitta doesn't hold enough upside to warrant a roster spot this late in the season.
