We're entering the very last stages of the 2016 fantasy football season.
After the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants battle on Monday, Week 10 will officially be over. Days later, Week 11 will kick off when the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers meet on Thursday night.
With many fantasy leagues beginning their playoffs in just a couple of weeks, each decision from here on out is going to carry significant weight. We're here to help you make those decisions with our Week 11 positional rankings. We'll be counting down the players we believe will perform best next week and make some statistical predictions for each.
We'll also take a look at some players who should be targeted off the waiver wire. For these, we'll be examining players who are currently owned in less than 60 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues.
Keep in mind that the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, New York Jets and San Diego Chargers will be on byes in Week 11.
Quarterbacks
If you're looking for a quarterback to stream or to fill in during the bye week, look no further than Baltimore Ravens signal-caller Joe Flacco.
Flacco is far from a fantasy stud but can perform when the right opportunity presents itself. Last Thursday against the Cleveland Browns, Flacco racked up 296 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Dallas Cowboys will present a tough challenge—the team is currently rated first in pass coverage by Pro Football Focus—but it doesn't mean Flacco's day is doomed.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger managed to produce 408 yards passing and three touchdowns against the Cowboys on Sunday. While these numbers are probably a bit higher than we can expect from Flacco on the road, they show that the Dallas secondary can be vulnerable.
Flacco is currently owned in 31.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
Another option to consider is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, who is owned in just 27.9 percent of ESPN leagues. Smith is definitely not a regular fantasy stud but faces a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that is rated just 27th against the pass by PFF.
Running Backs
It can often be difficult to find quality running backs on the waiver wire, but there are a couple of interesting options for Week 11.
Chicago Bears running back Jeremy Langford is only owned in 32.6 percent of ESPN leagues and could be returning to the starting role this week. This is because rookie star Jordan Howard may (or may not) have suffered an Achilles injury.
Howard, though, states that he isn't injured.
“Nah, I ain’t suffer nothing," he said, per Adam L. Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times.
We'll likely have to wait until later in the week to actually know Howard's status. If he is injured, however, it could be Langford's show when the Bears take on the New York Giants. At the very least, it's worth putting in a claim for Langford while awaiting word on Howard.
Another guy worth taking a flier on is New England Patriots scat back Dion Lewis.
Lewis, you may remember, was an absolute force in his seven games last season. A true PPR star, he racked up 234 yards rushing, 36 receptions, 388 yards receiving and four total touchdowns. He is currently available in roughly 55 percent of ESPN leagues.
While Lewis didn't play for the Patriots in Week 10, he was removed from the PUP list and returned to practice.
Expect Lewis to be active against the San Francisco 49ers, who are rated a mere 29th in overall defense by Pro Football Focus. Also expect Lewis to be a viable RB or flex option heading into playoff time.
Wide Receivers
Interestingly, Washington Redskins wide receiver Jamison Crowder is only owned in 58.1 percent of ESPN leagues. If he's available in your league, you should grab him.
Crowder has emerged as one of the biggest options in Washington's passing attack. He has already amassed 44 receptions for 535 yards and five touchdowns. He has a favorable Week 11 matchup with the Green Bay Packers, too.
Green Bay is rated 24th in pass coverage by PFF.
If you're focusing more toward the playoffs ahead, you might want to consider Cleveland Browns rookie wideout Corey Coleman. The Baylor product recently returned from a broken hand, and as he works his way back into shape, he could be a valuable flex option.
Though Coleman has just six receptions for 58 yards over the past two weeks, he had seven receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns in his first two appearances of the season.
Coleman is available in roughly 45 percent of ESPN leagues.
Also keep an eye out for Los Angeles Rams wideout Kenny Britt, who is available in nearly 43 percent of ESPN leagues. Britt has emerged as a top threat in L.A.'s offense and has produced 44 receptions for 693 yards and three scores.
Britt is coming off a seven-catch, 109-yard performance against the New York Jets. He'll go against a Dolphins defense that is rated 21st in pass coverage by PFF.
Tight Ends
Realistically, if you're looking for a tight end at this point in the season, it's because your tight end is on bye or you're simply looking for injury insurance. Either way, you should consider Washington tight end Vernon Davis.
Davis has remained a significant part of Washington's passing offense, even though fellow tight end Jordan Reed has returned to the playing field. Davis has racked up 14 receptions for 238 yards and a touchdown over the past three weeks.
Davis is only owned in 22.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
With the playoffs in mind, consider Steelers tight end Ladarius Green. The former San Diego Chargers standout made his return from injury in Week 10 and produced 30 yards on three receptions. His value should increase as Pittsburgh incorporates him more into the offense.
Green is available in roughly 92 percent of ESPN leagues.
