After the departure of Matt Forte during the offseason, Chicago Bears running back Jeremy Langford was expected to feed off of his coming-out party at the end of 2015 and bring some big scores to fantasy owners in 2016.

But in light of his ankle injury sustained during his team's Week 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Bears and fantasy football owners could look to Ka'Deem Carey and Jordan Howard as possible replacements.

The Bears announced Langford was ruled out for the remainder of the 31-17 loss in the second half, while Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times noted coach John Fox didn't know how severe Langford's injury was after the game.

Here is how the trio of Bears rushers has fared so far this season:

While the two backups haven't seen much of the ball this year, Howard is set to see additional action. Carey didn't even play in Sunday's game because of a hamstring injury, per Jahns, and has an uncertain immediate future alongside Langford because of the physical setback.

Howard was selected in the fifth round of the 2016 draft and has averaged an impressive 5.58 yards per carry during his limited time in the league. He's also shown the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, which adds more appeal for fantasy owners.

When healthy, Carey had performed admirably in his limited chances over the first two years of his career. On 79 carries, he averaged four yards and scored twice entering this year.

This season, he hasn't shown the same kind of pass-catching prowess as Howard while dealing with an injured hamstring.

Given that Chicago didn't have a bona fide backup behind Langford, it might not be clear that Howard will get the amount of touches that other starting backs around the league will get. So fantasy owners might want to either wait it out to see how Chicago's backfield shapes up during Week 4 or just look elsewhere for help.
