One thing is guaranteed about fantasy football. And that one thing is nothing is guaranteed.
There were a lot of busts in Week 3, with the likes of Kelvin Benjamin, Ben Roethlisberger and Will Fuller—who all have been fantastic to start the season—bombing big time for their respective teams.
You have to still love Roethlisberger's value for the rest of the season, with Le'Veon Bell returning to the field in Week 4, but it was a definite shock to see his Pittsburgh Steelers get manhandled by rookie quarterback Carson Wentz and the rest of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Heading the next round of action, there are a lot of favorable matchups for elite fantasy players, and Yahoo Sports has the projections for each player heading into Week 4. Take a look at the forecasted points leaders by position for that slate of games:
Note that kickers are not included and defenses won't be given a "boom, bust or sleeper" label.
Quarterbacks
Boom: Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts
Andrew Luck's offensive line is terrible; it's not his fault he's inconsistent throwing the ball. He's an elite quarterback in this league and deserves better than what he's getting with the Indianapolis Colts, but he's still a fantasy stud.
He proved why he's still one of the best signal-callers on Sunday in what has become a stereotypical come-from-behind win for Luck against the San Diego Chargers.
Luck is projected to score the second-most fantasy points among quarterbacks, with 22.99, trailing only the Carolina Panthers' Cam Newton (who had a terrible game Sunday). The Colts have an easier matchup in Week 4, against the Jacksonville Jaguars, in what should be a shootout for both offenses.
Look for Luck to have time to throw the ball against a vulnerable Jaguars defense that has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season.
Bust: Eli Manning, QB, New York Giants
I'm on record as saying Eli Manning would have a breakout season this year, and let's just say the jury is still out.
While Manning has had good points in 2016, he's also had some head-scratching moments—big surprise. While he's still a solid quarterback to start most weeks, Week 4 is not friendly for the New York Giants signal-caller, as Manning will go up against a stout Minnesota Vikings defense.
The Vikings are scary, even without Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson. The team is so talented they dismantled the defending NFC champion Panthers on the road, 22-10, while holding Newton to 16.08 points. While that's not an awful number, if you take away Newton's 26 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, he would've scored 7.48 points.
Manning is nowhere near as mobile a quarterback as Newton, so imagine him trying to scramble against a Vikings defense that had eight sacks and three interceptions against the Panthers.
Sleeper: Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
Have faith in a rookie quarterback. It seems to be working out fairly well for the Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys so far this season.
He's not a player who can have a 30-point performance by any means, but Dak Prescott has been impressive these past two weeks, scoring 18.28 points in Week 2 and 23.52 points on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
While the Cowboys are going up against the San Francisco 49ers on the road, he's projected to score 20.60 points in Week 4. You have to like his chances of having another strong outing.
Wide Receivers
Boom: Marvin Jones Jr., WR, Detroit Lions
Move over, Calvin Johnson: There's a new wideout in Detroit making big plays.
Johnson may be retired, but Jones has been making Megatron-esque plays for the Detroit Lions and was downright dominant in Week 3, recording six catches for 205 yards and two touchdowns.
Jones has become what many fantasy owners thought Golden Tate would be this season. He's a No. 1 receiver from now on and deserves a starting spot in your lineup every week.
Bust: Sammy Watkins, WR, Buffalo Bills
There is no right answer to the question surrounding Sammy Watkins. On a day when the Buffalo Bills stampeded the Arizona Cardinals in a 33-18 win, Watkins was on the bench with an injury. While it appears he will return to play the New England Patriots in Week 4, can you trust him?
You shouldn't.
He's scored just 6.30 in two games this season and has not looked at all like the player we saw last term. If this type of play continues, Watkins might even be droppable. But let's wait until he's 100 percent healthy and willing to compete before doing that. Leave him on the bench until he proves himself to be a viable option.
Sleeper: Terrelle Pryor, WR, Cleveland Browns
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
It appears that Terrelle Pryor has found a home as a wide receiver with the Cleveland Browns, as baffling as that sounds.
He also lined up as a quarterback, running back and even at safety. He had 14 targets on Sunday, even with rookie quarterback Cody Kessler throwing him the ball. With 23.90 fantasy points in Week 3, Pryor could be in store for another big showing against the Washington Redskins if the Browns continue to move him around the field.
Running Backs
Boom: Le'Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
This is an obvious choice. The most dynamic running back in the NFL is back from suspension and ready to go after being an inactive for the first three weeks of the regular season.
Projected to score 15.30 points against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4, Le'Veon Bell can make up for missing the last three games with instant production. While it is normal to assume there might be some rust since he's been out for so long, feel good about your lineup by including one of the best fantasy players there is.
Bust: Devonta Freeman, RB, Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons keep rotating between Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, and it's driving fantasy owners up the wall. It's a similar situation to what is happening at the Cincinnati Bengals with Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard, and that's bad news for your lineup.
"Committee" is a death sentence for running backs in fantasy football. Freeman is being outscored by Coleman and is no longer worth a starting spot in your lineup until things change. He has a chance to redeem himself Monday night against a weak New Orleans Saints defense, but he has to go up against the Panthers in Week 4.
That's a tough matchup for any tailback, especially one who's not getting that many touches.
Sleeper: T.J Yeldon, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
T.J. Yeldon has had a couple of down weeks in a row, but that's going in Week 4 against a weak Colts defense.
While Chris Ivory did return on Sunday after missing the first two games of the season, he failed to impress as he rushed for 14 yards on 12 attempts.
Believe in Yeldon as a flex start, but don't be surprised if he puts up No. 2 running back numbers against a Colts defense that has given up the most fantasy points to running backs so far this season.
Tight Ends
Boom: Dennis Pitta, TE, Baltimore Ravens
It's been a long-awaited return for Dennis Pitta, and after his coming-out party in Week 2, it looks like he is back in the No. 1 tight end conversation.
Pitta finished with 102 yards against the Browns on nine receptions in Week 2 and came back on Sunday with 65 receiving yards. While he didn't score a touchdown in either game, Pitta is becoming one of quarterback Joe Flacco's favorite targets again.
Pitta and the Baltimore Ravens will go up against the Oakland Raiders in Week 4, and while he's projected to score just 4.59 points, don't be shocked if he doubles or triples that total at home.
Bust: Antonio Gates, TE, San Diego Chargers
It seems like age has finally caught up with future Hall of Famer Antonio Gates.
Sure the San Diego Charger scored a touchdown in Week 2, but he only had two catches for 15 yards. Can he be trusted to just vulture touchdowns in the red zone all season long? To make matters worse, he was out injured on Sunday with a hamstring injury.
Sleeper: Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis Colts
Don't look now, but Jack Doyle is the No. 1 tight end in Indianapolis.
Doyle outplayed Dwayne Allen again on Sunday, putting up 65 yards on six grabs. While those aren't the most attractive figures, Doyle has become Luck's go-to target in the red zone over Allen, and heading into a matchup against the Jaguars, he might be able to haul in one or two scores in the red zone.
